You were born with genetic tendencies. One was probably music. Your first few years of life had the greatest impact on your strengths and weaknesses. The birth of your music career is no different. Begin it by focusing on promoting self and you’ll spend the rest trying to overcome selfishness. Start with giving and you’ll understand the freedom it brings throughout your career.
This builds closer ties with your home church. They can be a part of your success. You will be doing so much more for African Aids Relief than you thought possible. As the First Fruit Music Project grows, the collective of young aspiring artists will become a giving force - its success will be your success.
Your first CD is probably more about exposure. With the First Fruit Music Project, you will be part of a pretty cool thing. This represents a commitment that truly says yours is a ministry rather than personal ambition or business.
It should present opportunities for musical collaborations with other First Fruit Music Project artists. And don’t forget that each has made a commitment with a local church. Those churches may be inclined to host First Fruit Music Project artist performances.
Selling your CD in Christian environments is awkward. This project not only gives your CD a purpose, but provides you with a much more valid message during your performances than “take the experience home - buy my CD.” Check out this sample message.
You will likely sell more CDs. This means you will recover costs more quickly and your exposure will be increased.
Your first CD can remain special even as you produce subsequent recordings and become more accomplished and successful. You “first fruit” will continue to be the “message of the merch table” even when your live show is the music of your latest project.
